Higher Ground
Valleys fended
Shadows extended
Darkness contended
Word defended
Breath depended
Hearts blended
Light splendid
Chaos ended
Truth comprehended
Knees bended
Faults mended
Angels attended
Victor commended
Love descended
Time suspended
Hope apprehended
Life transcended
Mountain ascended

Wonderful fun with otherwise serious subjects. When I got to “Faults mended” . . . I had to chuckle and say to myself “if only.” No doubt your were in that special place for this to come forth. Inspired. Thank you.

Interesting — each line stands on its own — but is integral to the overall composition of the poem. Thoughts to ponder life’s encounters.

I like the variety of rhyming words — I thought at first it was just a list of rhyming phrases — was pleasantly surprised to find they told a story and were all linked together. Very nice.

indeed the journey is breaktaking!

Gorgeous wording in this clipped form you chose. I could fee the journey through valleys of sadness, then picking oneself up and carrying on, then how it repeats, and how we are awestruck as the height of passion is reached. Correct me if I am wrong. Lovely piece. Thanks for sharing. Heartspell
