Cascading mass of blonde curls

She came smiling into my life

Fresh and new with challenges

Like no other before her had forged

Her cries then as now with purpose

She is my Rainbow reminder

That no matter what dark clouds form

She always rises up and calls me blessed

With small words and big actions she loves me

I cut my strings from her and let her fly

Confident in her strength

Amazed by her boldness

She is my mirror

She is my friend

She is my daughter

I am her Mom

I will sit tearfully and watch

As she crosses the same stage

I crossed some thirty years ago

With pride and joy

She graduates

Another step upward

But remaining always

In her place within my heart

She is my last page

To a final chapter

She now writes her book.
