So we see in the Old Testament

2 occurrences of the Word Exercise.

The first Hebrew word for exercise is shown in Psalms 131:1 it is the word “halak”1980 in the Hebrew closely related to the word “yalak”3212 simply meaning to go, walk, come.

The second Hebrew word for exercise is found in Jer. 9:24 it is the word “asah”6213 meaning to do, fashion, accomplish, make.

We are not to walk in the ways of this world but walk in the humility of Truth.  The servant is not greater than his Master and their is but One Master and that is Jesus Christ, who set the example by becoming a servant and God exalted Him to His Right Hand seated Him on the Throne of Heaven as Intercessor, Mediator and Advocate for Whosoever will Hear.  God has done, fashioned, accomplished and made Lovingkindness, Judgment, and Righteousness.  He did so in the beginning when He spoke Light…and Light became, it was and is and shall evermore be the Truth which is in Christ Jesus.  For Jesus came as the Light of the World.  By the Word was everything created that was created.  All that you can see was framed from what once was unseen but God revealed in His only Begotten Son who came in the likeness of man as a servant to man to draw man back into Right relationship with God, who when we receive that Love we by the Spirit can cry OUR Father.  No greater Love has any person manifest on this earth than the Love of Our Father who laid down his life for us…the World.  We are judged righteously by the Father…we All were in sin but He took our sin and poured out His Righteousness.  Apart from the Blood of Christ there is no remission of sin.  We must put aside our lofty ideas that we can accomplish what has already been accomplished by the Perfect Sacrifice.  Cast aside any imagination that you have that you can save yourself by any means within your own power but in humility submit to God and the Good News that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God and He has in these last days poured out His Spirit on all flesh.  Behold He stands at the door of your heart and knocks…..

What a Faithful witness.  Matt. 18:16  and Deut. 19:15

I thought today about exercise.  It is the first thing athletes, military personnel or law enforcement faces.  I have tried out for many things while in school and the very first thing we did was go through grueling exercise.  I often thought why?  These exercises seem to have nothing to do with what I wanted to do.  I wanted to play ball, I wanted to just play the game, be good and be seen, have the crowd cheer for me and yet here I was just running, lifting, stretching….breathing, hurting, sweating, straining……moving parts of my body that were screaming stop….STOP….I just want to have fun….this was supposed to be Fun Right?  Yet if we really want to be a part of the team we endure the pain Right?   Think of our military every branch starts with Basic Training, Boot Camp…exercise.  Law Enforcement training begins with exercise.  My Lord they tell us that if we are to be healthy we must eat the right foods, drink plenty of water, and EXERCISE.  What is this all about….?  Building endurance for the task, strengthening muscles….we go to great lengths with our exercise.  Buying equipment, hearing coaches yell (a lot) the meanest drill sergeant you’ve ever known….but the affliction is supposed to be good for us?

We pay great amounts of money to join fitness centers, we go to the gym.  We stand in clothing that is not really that attractive.  I know for me the greatest fear I had in school when it came to gym class was the “dressing out” part.  I was self-conscious about anyone seeing parts of my body that were not quite perfect.  Can you see a picture here.

Adam and Eve after the Terrible Fall…Hid…they were naked and ashamed.  They attempted to cover themselves with something made, fashioned by their own hands from the earth and God comes into the Garden seeking them, because they were hiding.  “Where are You?”  “Who told you that you were naked?”  They had lost the Glory of God that surrounded them, their Robe of Righteousness.  God by His own hand killed an innocent animal and covered them……a picture of what was to come when He would lay down His own life once and for all.

Where are we today?

I know that it is of utmost importance that we prepare.

I know that bodily exercise does not profit for whatever I can do in my own strength will eventually fail because I will grow old, faint, lose my strength and give up but Godliness that Profits in All things.

Right Food His Word our meat should be to Do the Will of the Father

Right Water His Spirit the Living Water that if you drink you Never thirst again

Jesus prayed in the Garden…..Father not my will…but Thine be done…He exercised Faith…The Word said He would come, He did, The Word said He would die, He did, the Word said he would live again, He did, the Word said He ascended, He did, the Word said He’s Comi ng back…………………………….Who will he Find Faithful.  Built up in the Most Holy Faith?

Mat 20:25  But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

Mar 10:42  But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

Luk 22:25  And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

Act 24:16  And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men.

The word exercise here means form by art, to adorn, to exercise oneself, strive, labor, take pains.  Interestingly similar to another Greek word meaning vessel.  Jesus says to take his yoke upon you for his burden is light.  What is this yoke but the very breath of God breathed into us a salvation and the same spirit poured out on us in these last days.  You carry the Light of His Word.  The law was the Word but when revealed it was illuminated with the Light of Truth and revealed in Christ.  The Anointing of Christ breaks every other yoke.  It is the Anointing of Jesus Christ who came in the image of man but was, is and will ever more be God.

1Ti 4:7  But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

Come before God naked…Baring your heart and soul to God saying search me and know my heart.   Submitted to God like a wife to a husband…..saying God Know Me.

1Ti 4:8  For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Training  For what?  For that which is to come.

We come before God naked…

God clothes us in His Righteousness

Prepared for the Kingdom
