Judges 4:1

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.

1 Timothy 4:1

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.

2 Thessalonians 2: 1-3

1) Now we beseech you brethren by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by or gathering together unto him, 2) That ye be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled neither by spirit nor by word nor by letter as from us that the day of Christ is at hand. 3) Let no man deceived you by any means; for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first and that the man of sin be revealed the son of perdition.

Judges Chap. 4

1)And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.

Who:  Soldiers of God

What:  Did evil

Where:  In the SIGHT of the LORD

When:  Ehud (unity) was dead

2)And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan that reigned in Hazor: the captain of whose host was Sisera which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

Whenever you buy into the world the LORD will sell you out.  Many times we ask ourselves the questions how in the world did we get ourselves into this mess?  That question if you really meditate on it answers itself.  Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap.

When unity dies, you become enclosed, fenced in, bound, enslaved.  Your perception is in a low place.

Enemy begins to bind you.  Your mind becomes twisted, you begin to meditate on your own thoughts and imaginations.

Jabin (whom God consecrates)
the king of Canaan (low region)
reigned in Hazor (castle)

The ruler of the land promised to God’s people.  His names speaks to us whom God consecrates, sets apart, and observes.  The name let us know that God put him there, appointed him to his position.  He was king of the low region.  Not king of the hill but the valley.  Low regions are places promised to us for rest and comfort, guidance and protection.  A place for shepherds and sheep.

Yet it is in the valley that we face the shadow of death.  The valley is a place where we leave our enemies alive and well never quite conquering the valley.

King of the low region and he reigned in a castle. Or to say it plainly we face strongholds in the valley.

Jabin had an army and the captain of his host was one called Sisera (binding in chains, meditation/mind)
dwelt in Harosheth (carving)

God chose the king, the king chose the captain.  The battle will be fought with the captain if you don’t find favor with the king.

Every battle we face begins in our minds.  Thoughts that bind us, keeping us tied down, restricting our movement.  When unity dies our thoughts our entertained.  The Bible teaches us to lean not on our own understanding yet how often do we meditate on the bondage of our own thinking instead of relying on the WORD. The WORD was covenant, unbreakable, infallible, inerrant and everlasting.  Yet we lean on our own thinking.  What we hear with our own ears.  What oppressions of the mind have you bound?  That bondage will carve out a place in your mind and make its home,  When unity dies.  What is the tie that binds you?

3)And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD for he had nine hundred chariots of iron: and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

What do you put your trust in?  Whose report will you believe?  We cry out to the LORD because of the chariots.  We see the chariots of iron speedily coming to tear us down entangling our minds with doubts brought on by the fear of what we see.  See the chariots of iron, lost loved ones, sickness, pain, suffering, neglect, abuse, persecution, grief, strife, the Bible says there are nine hundred of them.   Hear them, clanging, noisy, dusty, rushing, roaring, seeking chariots coming with the chain to bind our thoughts.  Oh God let us believe without seeing let us have an ear to hear your WORD.  Cry to the LORD until all you can hear is the voice of one lifted up in perfect unity, ignite the fire, resurrect the covenant, and deliver us O GOD!
