BENEFITS OF UNITY

Psalms 133:1

BEHOLD, how good and how pleasant it is for the brethren to dwell together in unity.  It is like precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garment.

Falling away again
During the times of rest the Lord caused enemies to fight among themselves

DELIVERER
Every man did that which was right in his own eyes. (Judges17:6. 21:25)
Israel indulged in the idolatry and immorality of the culture among them.

After Joshua died the children of Israel asked the LORD “Who shall go up for us” they were in search of leadership.  “Who will fight for us against our enemy?”  The Lord answered Judah shall go up: Behold, Look, pay attention I have delivered the land unto his hand. (Judges 1: 1-2)

Joshua, his name is Yeshua in Hebrew, meaning Jehovah saves or Jehovah is Salvation. Joshua led them over into the Promised Land.  Joshua divided the land and the people settled in.  He dies.   They had no direction, no guidance, no helper.  Who will go up for us?

The answer is the same today.  Judah will go up. Praise must precede deliverance.  God inhabits the Praise of his people, but inside of Judah was a lion.  A seed that would become not just a deliverer but THE DELIVERER.

PRAISE
Praise selects its servant.  The Bible says in Judges 1: 3 that Judah (Praise) chose Simeon.  Simeon name means God has heard.  When you begin your journey to the next level, Praise goes up but you must have an ear to hear, because at the sound of praises God presence is felt and He will speak.

Praise and Hearing.  A shout and ear are the most valuable instruments of our warfare.  The Bible says that they went up and the enemies were delivered into their hands. It is a sad note but true that the victory was only partial, for not all of the lands promised were conquered.  A little piece here of there, remnants, little cell groups that continued as thorns in the sides of God’s people.  Cycles of falling away begin.  Each time the LORD raised up a deliverer for his people.

JUDGES

OTHENIEL   powerful man of God
OTHENIEL was the first for forty years the people had rest under the direction of this powerful MAN of God, but he died.  Again, the Bible said the people did evil in the sight of the LORD.  What looks good one day becomes your oppressor the next.  Each time God’s people fell away into the hands of the world around them.  They appeared to still be wandering around in circles an old habit passed down from their wilderness days.  They are just some things we shouldn’t bring out of the wilderness with us.

EHUD   joined together
EHUD was the next deliverer raised up by God, when the people cried out God rose up UNITY. And when UNITY dies the enemy will find that breach and enter in.
